Khan Academy Tutorial

Khan Academy: The Future of Learning

Khan Academy is an online learning tool that has videos, quizzes, and other activities to help students in their difficult courses. What they can do is search a specific topic needed in order to understand  their information that they are learning in school. Each topic covered on Khan Academy has a video along with practice questions that are done out with step-by-step instruction to make sure the student knows what they need for their next test, quiz, or project. I find it very useful if I was absent the day a lesson was taught or if I simply don't understand something and don't have time to get clarification from my teacher. A list of topics Khan Academy covers includes:

  • Calculus/pre-calc
  • Algebra
  • Geometry
  • Statistics
  • trigonometry
  • Biology
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Health
  • History (American, art, music, European, etc.)

Here is a screenshot of one of the tutorials on Khan Academy. This is an example of the most common video-type on Khan Academy in which Sal Khan, the narrator explains the mathematical process while giving direct examples in the video, similar to what is done in classrooms.

Go check out Khan Academy for yourself at Kahnacademy.org and see what you can discover.
